Complaints

The Internal Affairs Bureau will thoroughly investigate all complaints made against an officer of this department. Complaints will be accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Complaints will be investigated even if the complainant wishes to remain anonymous. There are several ways that a complainant can file a Internal Affairs Complaint against an officer of this department.

1. A complaint may be made at the Englishtown Police Department, located at 15 Main Street, Englishtown, New Jersey. A complainant should ask to speak with the supervisor on duty, who will provide the complainant with an Internal Affairs Complaint Form to be completed and either returned directly to the supervisor or the complainant may take the Internal Affairs Complaint Form with them and return it at a later date by dropping the Internal Affairs Complaint Form off to a supervisor at Police Headquarters or by mailing the Internal Affairs Complaint Form to the Internal Affairs Bureau at Englishtown Police Department, 15 Main Street, Englishtown, New Jersey 07726-1544.

2. A complaint may be made by calling 732-446-7001 ext. 247. If your call is answered by an Internal Affairs Investigator, please be prepared to provide as much information as necessary to investigate your complaint. Complainants that wish to remain anonymous DO NOT have to provide their name or any other identifying information. If your call is answered by voice mail and you wish to remain anonymous, please be sure to provide as much information as possible so the Internal Affairs Investigator can thoroughly investigate your complaint. Complainants who do not wish to remain anonymous, are asked also to provide a telephone number that they can be reached at so an Internal Affairs Investigator may return your call if need be.

3. A complaint may be mailed to the Internal Affairs Bureau at Englishtown Police Department, 15 Main Street, Englishtown, New Jersey 07726-1544. Complainants who do not wish to remain anonymous are requested to provide a telephone number that they can be reached at so an Internal Affairs Investigator can reach out to you if need be. Anyone who files can wish to remain anonymous.  They are asked to provide as much information as possible so the Internal Affairs Investigator can thoroughly investigate your complaint.

4. A complaint may be e-mailed to internalaffairs@englishtownpolice.org. Be sure to provide as much information as possible so the Internal Affairs Investigator can thoroughly investigate your complaint.
