The officers of the Englishtown Police Department strive to provide professional police services at all times. If you feel that you received exceptional police service from one of our officers than you are encouraged to reach out to Lt. Cooke by contacting him in person at his office, or by calling him at 732-446-7001 ext. 230, or by e-mail at pcooke@englishtownpolice.org, or by mailing a letter to him at Englishtown Police Department, 15 Main Street, Englishtown, New Jersey 07726-1544. 

 

The Internal Affairs Bureau will thoroughly investigate all complaints made agaist an officer of this department. Complaints will be accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Complaints will be investigated even if the complainant wishes to remain anonymous. There are several ways that a complainant can file a Internal Affairs Complaint against an officer of this department.

 

1.    A complaint may be made at the Englishtown Police Department, located at 15 Main Street, Englishtown, New Jersey. A complainant should ask to speak with the supervisor on duty who will provide the complainant with an Internal Affairs Complaint Form to be completed and either returned directly to the supervisor or the complainant may take the Internal Affairs Complaint Form with them and return it at a later date by dropping the Internal Affairs Complaint Form off to a supervisor at Police Headquarters or by mailing the Internal Affairs Complaint Form to the Internal Affairs Bureau at Englishtown Police Department, 15 Main Street, Englishtown, New Jersey 07726-1544.

 

2.    A complaint may be made by calling 732-446-7001 ext. 247. If your call is answered by an Internal Affairs Investigator please be prepared to provide as much information as necessary to investigate your complaint. Complainants that wish to remain anonymous DO NOT have to provide their name or any other indentifying information. If your call is answered by voice mail and you wish to remain anonymous please be sure to provide as much information as possible so the Internal Affairs Investigator can thoroughly investigate your complaint. Complainants who do not wish to remain anonymous, are asked to also provide a telephone number that they can be reached at so an Internal Affairs Investigator may return your call if need be.

 

3.    A complaint may be mailed to the Internal Affairs Bureau at Englishtown Police Department, 15 Main Street, Englishtown, New Jersey 07726-1544. Complainants who do not wish to remain anonymous are requested to provide a telephone number that they can be reached at so an Internal Affairs Investigator can reach out to you if need be. Complaintants who wish to remain anonymous are asked to provide as much information as possible so the Internal Affairs Investigator can thoroughly investigate your complaint.

 

4.    A complaint may be e-mailed to internalaffairs@englishtownpolice.org. Be sure to provide as much information as possible so the Internal Affairs Investigator can thoroughly investigate your complaint.

Firearms ID Cards & Permits

 

The Firearms ID Cards and Permits Unit accepts all applications and conducts all investigations for Firearms Identification Cards and Permits to Purchase a Handgun and can be reached by calling (732) 446-7001 ext. 248. All applicants MUST be a Borough of Englishtown resident and proof of residency will be investigated. To obtain forms, click on the links below. The forms MUST be filled out entirely on the computer prior to printing. Do not sign your forms until you meet with an invstigator from the unit. To ensure that an investigator is available to meet with you it is recommended that applicants call the unit at the number above prior to arriving at Police Headquarters. If any resident needs any help in the completion of the forms an investigator will assist you with any questions you may have. Street Lights

 

Properly functioning street lights deter crime! Report burnt out or malfunctioning street lights to: streetlights@englishtownpolice.org. When reporting a street light that is burnt out or malfunctioning be sure to provide a good location: ie; the street address the street light is in front of, the street and cross street the street light is at or the utility pole number of the utility pole the street light is affixed to. Together we can deter crime by keeping the Boro well lit!
